Featured transformation · CJS Vineyards

From a dated brochure site to an inviting digital tasting room.

A complete redesign that gave a family-owned Finger Lakes winery a clearer story, stronger visual presence, and an easier path from first visit to tasting inquiry.

  • Clearer inquiries

Prominent tasting actions replace buried contact details.

  • Mobile-ready

A responsive experience that keeps the story easy to follow.

  • More professional

A cohesive visual system worthy of the winery behind it.

Before

The business had character. The website was not showing it.

The previous site carried the essential facts, but it relied on sparse pages, small images, dense blocks of copy, and inconsistent hierarchy. Visitors had to work to understand the winery, explore its wines, or find the next step.

  1. 01

Key actions were buried inside body copy.

  2. 02

Pages felt disconnected instead of part of one brand.

  3. 03

The vineyard story was present, but visually understated.

  4. 04

Desktop-first layouts left too much empty space.

Before

Useful information without a strong journey.

The original events, wine, and contact pages showed the opportunity for a more consistent system.

The design started with listening.

Rather than jumping straight into visuals, the project began with a guided questionnaire covering the business, audience, goals, content, functionality, and desired feeling.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the winery, its customers, its story, and the action the website needed to encourage.

  2. 02

    Shape a sample

Translate the answers into a complete visual direction the client could react to instead of imagining.

  3. 03

    Review together

Present the sample, collect specific feedback, and work collaboratively through the requested changes.

  4. 04

    Refine every screen

Tighten hierarchy, imagery, navigation, calls to action, and responsive behavior.

The same winery, presented with clarity and atmosphere.

A collaborative process, not a one-time handoff.

The first sample created a concrete starting point. From there, client feedback guided edits throughout the website—refining page content, imagery, layouts, and details until the experience felt accurate to CJS Vineyards and easy for customers to use.

The redesign improved the professionalism of the digital presence and supported stronger customer inquiries.

  • Professional first impression

A cohesive, modern experience now reflects the quality of the business.

Tasting requests and contact actions are visible throughout the journey.

  • More engaging storytelling

Large photography and editorial layouts make the vineyard memorable.

CJS Vineyards had an excellent experience working with Rook Creations, who designed our new business website. They were professional, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Rook Creations took the time to understand our business, our goals, and the look and feel we wanted for the site. The final website is modern, clean, user-friendly, and is perfect for our winery. We have already received great feedback from customers, and we are very happy with the results. CJS Vineyards would highly recommend them to any business looking for a reliable and talented website design team.
